Vancouver BC
In what has been a whirlwind offseason and short tenure of this GLHL season one thing is for certain the Canucks players are on short leashes. GM Barry Shepherd never afraid to make a move has made plenty this year. Some questionable deals that saw guys like Pavel Kubina and newly acquired Antoine Vermette along with Brendan Morrow all shipped out of town. It seems Shepherd is trying to find the right combinations to allow them to compete with the top teams in the upper echelon of the GLHL. The Canucks appear to handle the bottom half the league no problem on most nights but it is still the constant struggle against the Hawks, Flames, Wings, Ducks that leaves the GM frustrated and looking for answers. One big acquisition the Canucks hope to get going is Paul Kariya. A superstud in his days with Dallas has come to Vancouver and has dried up like a desert. Its like a mirage for the Canucks who hope eventually this mirage will finally live up to his true billing and pop some goals in.
